May I??

August 28, 2008 at 6:53 pm (Uncategorized)

Sorry my dear readers but may I get a moment please?!!

Thanks alot, I am way better now!!

It has been a burden  and I really need to take it off from my chest!!

Allow me to ask one question please. What would you feel if your bestest friend forgets your birthday!! Not once, twice but thrice!!!

“T” and I have known each other for four years now. I am the type of a romantic girl who knows that remebering birthdays is a great event at least for me and for the people I have knwon. I used to be the 1st one to celebrate her birthday with cards, messages, emails and send her gifts as well.

She forgets my birthday every year and I forgive her also. I have deicded not to feel gloomy about it. I didn’t last year. Moreover, I am the one who reminded her with it in a way or two just to save her the embarrassment of not remembering such an event that occurs once a year only!!

A few days ago, we were on the phone when I asked her where are you? She said I am buying a cake. I was like a cake!! What’s the occassion? She said ” A cake that contains 26 candles on top of them,”!!

I was lauhging hysterically. I didn’t believe my ears!! She was laughing too saying;

” Yeah, 26 sweet candles,”!!

I remember calling “A” who is a dear friend of mine too  telling her how I didn’t remind “T” of my birthday this year but it seems she will remember it bcause of the cake even. She was happy for me too.

Today, I went shopping with my sisters. We were waiting for our food to arrive when she called. She greeted me and I greeted her back. We were chitchatting when I told her jokingly “You know “T”, I am 26 today,”!!  Put in mind that before I said it, I intended not to be angry at her for not remembering my birthday. She was like “Oooh nice, nice” and by the way Susu and since we are on the line,”Could you please tell me where is the location of..,”?

I was shocked!! I kept quiet for afew seconds and then I realized that I was crying!! She didn’t even wish me a happy birthday!! Instead she was asking about a certain place!! I am sure she didn’t even notice that I was crying. I was like “I donno though I totally know”!! I was burning inside out!! She was like “Ok, I gotta hang up now,” I interrupted her saying “I am the one who wants to hang up now,”. She was like “why,” I said nothing, I just don’t wanna continue this conversation,”. I was trying my best not to show that I am upset so I asked her “When are you getting back home,”. She was like “NEVER,” in a very angry tone!! I said “Fine,” and so she said “Yeah, like everytime, you start fights,”!!

It’s my freaking birthday for God’s sake!! I asked for nothing but a birthday wish!! Howcome I never forget you birthday and make it a great event!!

I was really surprised how many colleagues and friends of friends sent me birthday wishes. I really felt joy and was jumping out of happiness. Thanks everybody!!

I guess I have to get used to “T” not remembering my birthday otherwise I am gonna end up crying in m birthday instead of feeling cheerful  😦 😦

I am sure the asnwer is No but for me it does remind me of a major difference in my life!! Can you guess what is it!!? Nah, you won’t guess ;D

I am turning 26 in minutes. Can you believe that!! Gosh, I feel I am still in high school sitting in the 1st chair in the 1st row AS USUAL since I am a bookworm ;D

Look what I found in this amazing site www.dayofbirth.co.uk about my birthday ;D

  • You are approximately 820,537,532 seconds old.

To those who think I am getting older, seeeeeeeeeeeeee I am 3 years old only lol

I have never ever imagined myself to be me right now!! A very successful woman thanks God with many friends around. A university teacher who inspires lots of students and is called a friend more than a teacher!!

I started my career even before my graduation because the head of the department of my college recommended me.

OMG!! I feel it was yesterday I swear!! I remember stopping by my previous work which was one of the most famous schools in the Eastern Province and going for an interview with an American lady called Anna Marie. A person who has been inspiring me and making me who I am now with her great assistance.

She really loved me for I left a great impression as she said. She also asked which classes I prefer and I answered saying “KIDS,”!! I didn’t know that kids meant 4 years old students!!

I was afraid for how can I deal with them and how can I convince thier parents that I will take care of them!! The 1st day came and I found myself indulged with them playing and running and SINGING!! ME SINGING YES!!! And I had an adorable voice as they always said lol

Dealing with kids for almost three years has changed my world drastically!! Who can ever refuse free hugs and kisses everyday when they arrive and before they leave!! Lots of passion, warmth and many many wonderful feelings!!

I can never ever forget that day when Kareem called me Mama!! I can’t deny that I shed afew tears. I was touched!! His mom came the other day telling me that he calls me Mama even at home because he says I tell stories wonderfully like his mom!! I hugged him so tight and felt love surrounding me!!

Teaching kids was a job that I will never ever regret in my life because it made me a mom even if I am still single. However, that happiness wasn’t that long because I resigned later!!

Work was really killing me slowly especially with our new manager who was merely a donkey!!

My current job called me telling me they want me. Everybody advised me to go and here I am completing my 2nd year in September!!

I thought that I will be teaching teenaged girls or something like that but I was shcoked!! Our uni accpets students from ANY AGE!! I had a grandma once and many many mothers with 3-6 kids!! It was challenging for me but I am doing great with them as they always say. I promised myself not to be that stupid, tough, rusty type of teaches who taught me in college!!

Though, I was always a top student but there was that obstacle my teachers built between them and us. That’s why I have decided to become a friend before becoming a teacher ad thanks God I am successful in doing it!!

I have no clue why I drifted away talking about my jobs instead of my birthday lol but I guess I am showing gratitude indirectly!!

Back into my birthday. Yes, I am one year older but I am happy and telling my age is not a problem for me at all. I am still young and moreover, people still think I am 18 because of my babyface lol

I don’t care about parties and celebrations but remebering it with a gift is a nice touch. Don’t tell me you don’t agree ;D

P.S It passed 12 already and so goodbye 25 and welcome my new year. I had a terrible time at the end of my last year. God, please make it a happy year, let me fulfil my dreams and make my wishes come true.

Gule Gule vacation

August 26, 2008 at 9:59 am (Uncategorized)

My vacation is ending soon. Though I am not a big fan of vacations myself since I am workaholic, I don’t feel like going back to work!!!

Moreover, my back to work will be September 1st!! I don’t mind it but what’s bothering me is that my family members will be still vacationing since they work in govermental sector!!

The 2nd reason why I am bothered is because my back to work will be the 1st day of “courses registrations” for my university students!! I am to advise almost 3000 girls on which course to register!! I love doing it because I assist them on which courses to register according to their English level. How, simply because most of them were my students. So, I advise them individually which is tripple tiresome but lovely because I really end up making them satisfied.

Last semester, I was advising with my friend N but she won’t be there because she is going to take unpaid vacation for Ramadan to stay with her sick mom. A third person who worked with us was F and she is the reason why I decided to take all the advising burden myself!! Why, listen up!!

Lots of students had problems in their courses registration because of HER. Advising is a very risky job because a single mistake will ruin everything!! She cared about how soon they will finish their studying and I was totally the opposite!!

Since the studying is in English, British English to be exact, I am very careful in choosing thier courses. Not all of the students are advance in English and so they won’t be able to pursue studying major courses with good grades!! What she did was giving the students condensed courses with one reason in mind “Finishing as soon as possible”. That way ended up with many Fs, million drops and lots lots more!!!

I don’t care if they extended their years of studying if it means having good grades!! That’s why I have decided to do it myself with no interference!!

P.S. Gule Gule is a Turkish sentence I have learned from my sweet friend Nash meaning “Good bye” ;D

Hi everybody

It’s 1:35 and I am not asleep yet!! My family and I were in a chalet today. We had a great time and the company of my cusions made it greater. Ameer that lil boy made me day. I love his broken Arabic accent because it makes him sweeter and sweeter. He is 5 years old now and he has been living in US with his family for the passed three years.

Being at a young age like him meant not being able to master or even know afew words of his Arabic language. When he started to utter his first words, he was surrounded by Americans and so his first words were “cat” and ” dog”!! His family is spending their vacation here so it’s almost their second month here. Add to this it’s being their first vacation since they left to US for business. His 1st two weeks were a disaster!! He was feeling like being entraped in a new place, new people, and moreover new language for him!! The kids at his age were thrilled to see him but he was a bit withdrwan for not being able to communicate with them unless there was a translator around. A month passed and he started progressing. Not to mention that he was trying his ultimate best to cope and learn as much Arabic words as he can so that he would find a place for him in the picture!!

I met him twice but it was during his withdrawn period so we didn’t talk much. Today, he was totally different. He culd understand what we were saying and moreover, he could use the same context to express himself. Though, his Arabic was broken to a kid at his age but hearing him pronoucnning them was sweet I must admit.

I as well as my family members blamed his mom and dad for the big confusion he was in. We all know that being in the states as well as many English spoken countries means one thing which is, speaking the same language in your daily life. However, that didn’t mean not to speak Arabic at home since our original language is the Arabic language. True we are driven into learning foriegn languages because it is becoming a must nowadays and tru people are boosting  around with it considering it a wowing thingie but that doesn’t mean ommiting our language and totally replacing it with whatsoever language it is!!

Your opinions please?
